We met through a regional campus ministry retreat our church was holding in Spring of 2010 (our last semesters of undergrad). Cheryl decided to attend UK for grad school and moved to Lexington that Fall and we started dating a year later. We tied the knot at Buffalo Trace Distillery in November 2012 and have adopted 3 fur babies since: 2 cats and a dog.
We battled through infertility early on in our marriage, which made us take a step back and really evaluate the decision to have kids. The more we thought through all that comes with that choice, we have now decided that kids are not something we truly desire. This decision has made it tricky for us to maintain the types of friendships we enjoy as many of our other couple friends now have newborns and toddlers and can't just hang out on a random night anymore.
We're both very laid back and no drama type people. We bring our dog everywhere we can. Corey is an electrical engineer and Cheryl does a handful of odd jobs including transcription, punching bets at Keeneland, children's ministry coordinator, as well as wedding coordinating & decorating.
Things we enjoy:
- local craft breweries
- trivia nights
- board & card games
- local restaurants
- cooking & baking
What we are Looking for:
We're simply looking for other couples that enjoy the same type of things that we do. We enjoy getting to know people and doing things together over food and drinks. While we don't mind if you have kids or are wanting them in the future, we would love to find some friends that have made a similar choice as us and therefore have the freedom to hang out on the drop of a hat if we decide to go out and do something on the fly on any given night.
